The Academic Counseling Department is dedicated to helping all students succeed during their time at Reitz Memorial, as well as prepare them for endeavors after high school. Our counselors provide academic advice regarding course selection, scheduling, college/career advising, as well as personal counseling as requested. In addition to the information below, parents will receive monthly e-newsletters from the department, and class specific updates throughout the year. We also welcome the opportunity for you to stop by our office or contact us by phone or email.
It is recommended that students take both the ACT and SAT, as students tend to perform better on one versus the other. The writing section on both the SAT and ACT is now optional; however, it is encouraged that all students take this section.
Reitz Memorial’s school code is 150980, and must be included in student registration to ensure that the school receives the scores. Assistance is available to help cover the the registration cost for the ACT and SAT. Contact the Academic Counseling office for more information.
