Reitz Memorial High School’s Counseling Department assists both students and parents in a variety of ways. Mrs. Cullum and Mrs. Howe are the school counselors who can assist students with scheduling classes, tracking grades, and monitoring progress toward graduation. They also work with any student who may be struggling with problems ranging from peer pressure or friend issues to anxiety or depression.
Students are assigned a school counselor that will work with them during the duration of their time at Memorial. Mrs. Cullum serves the first half of the alphabet for each grade, and Mrs. Howe serves the second half.
Mrs. Katie Haire is the College and Career Counselor. She handles Memorial’s college education program including: advising on college choice, transcript requests, application assistance, applying for scholarships and financial aid, and organizing collegiate outreach. She also handles our career exploration initiatives which include individual counseling, career discovery classes for freshman, and Memorial’s annual Career Day in the spring.
